A three-day/two-night tour of the Somme battlefields of the First World War. Our tour begins with a visit to the "Somme 1916" museum in Albert during the afternoon of the first day.

It continues the following morning with a visit to Newfoundland Park at Beaumont Hamel where we explore the remains of the trenches, cemeteries and memorials of the site. From Beaumont Hamel we drive to the Ulster Tower where we discuss the advance of the 36th Ulster Division on 1st July 1915 before taking lunch at Le Tommy Café, Pozières. The afternoon is spent looking at the central area of the Somme battlefield along the Albert to Bapaume Road, including the Lochnagar Crater, before visiting the Theipval Memorial to the Missing to pay our respects.

Our final day commences with a visit to Mametz to look at the actions of the 9th Battalion, The Devonshire Regiment and 2nd Gordon Highlanders on 1st July 1916 before moving on to Mametz Wood which epitimises the struggle of the summer of 1916. From Mametz Wood we drive to Contalmaison to see the MaCrae Battalion memorial before making our way back to Calais to return home.

At Calais you have the opportunity to visit one of the wine warehouses before we embark upon our ferry to return to the UK.
